View Full Version : OK Now that Weired !!!!!

when the car came from Japan, I was surprised and kind of pleased when I found out the speedo is been delimited but as usual speedo and ODO reading in KM, hence I was driving the car to well over 180 KM and no engine cuts what so ever, I even had SUPRO(fellow member) with me when we first found out, NOW that I have fitted the speedo conversion kit and the car reads nicely in MPH ,so doeas the ODO, noticed the engine cuts as soon as I reach 115MPH (180 KM) !!!!!!!!!!

Can someone please tell me whats happening now and if I need to connect something that I havent done.

No, it was before when the speedo was in KMH but now that fitted the speedo and reads in Miles its not delimited anymore !!!!!

So you were off the speedo then? 180kh/m is 112mph... so you went past this right?

All I can say is get a proper TRL/Thor delimiter and convertor in there and it will solve all your problems.

Mas, what delimiter do you have fitted? If its anything other than the Thor DSL I'd bin it and get an all in one convertor and delimiter from thor. It'll also make you power steering work properly.

guys the delimiter was in the car when came from Japan (if there is any at all) and the speedo convertor that I just fitted is a THOR one which works perfect apart from the limit that I just got which I never had

I have passed the 180 so many times even on JAE on sunday down A1 I went far away passing the 180 KM nearly reaching the needle rest pin or 0 KMH again all round !!!!!!! but now nothing like that any more

Was the Thor unit installed behind the odometer, speedo, or in the footwell next to the ECU? Did you do the install?

its installed behind the speedo as its only a speedo convertor unit and not the TSD, I didnt get the TSD as I thought I have got it already but now its not working OK.

Ok, sounds like you didn't get the combo box which has both the DSC and the TSD. See here: http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/Electronic-186.asp

Contact Pete, he will should be able to get you sorted.
