Think i may have to replace my dampers/springs in the near future as i cannot adjust my dampers, they are AFAIK a std electronically adjustable option, but the car came without the in car adjustment controller:( so the result is a reasonable ride in town and just cruising about but on fast A & B roads etc they are a little uncontrolled, so i'm thinking about what to replace them with, but at a low budget, also is it worth bothering with a cheap coilover set up? i don't want anything to hard! old git and like my comfort;)

i thought it was a good combination, at least according to the search...

It is a great combination. I have them on mine and Paul Whiffin used to use them on his when he was tracking his car iirc and he said the handling was excellent.

I have Eibach and Bilsteins mate. Car is indeed very low, especialy witrh Super Dragger box at the back. Have to hit speed bumps and no more than 4mph otherwise the bottom/front catches. Lovely look and handling though with this setup. ;)

Same as, changed from 40's tyres to 35's and the car started rubbing where it hadnt before  , so I stuck in some spring assistors, to raise the back and kill the rubbing (which worked), but that lowered the front ever so slightly so ramps I could clear easy now need caution.

Handling is good tho :) and lower the look is lovely.

How is changing from a bigger profile to a smaller profile going to cause rubbing? Unless you went for different width or different brands, the different brands of tyres will have different widths even thought they both may be e.g 265's.

That was the case, 275/40/18 dunlop swapped for 275/35/18 F1's

Still they were thinner as the gap to the arch was greater, yet they rubbed when the 40's did'nt.

Cheers Nic, how much does that lower the car? Lower compared to the Eibachs?

If you are worried about ride height, you can buy espilair(sp) springs which i believe lower the car around 10mm. I have full espilair suspension on my FTO and it handles like a go kart

Im not actually worried about it being TOO low, the opposite...kinda. Got Tein SS on at the moment but I feel they need changed as they are crashing...probably leaking. I dont want the next combination I get to make it too high as I like the way it sits just now.
