Help with Double Din Stereo

DON'T cut any wires!

Get yourself a PC2-17-4 from Halfords. The connector you need is NOT the one that plugs into the back of the stereo, but if you follow this lead back, it'll lead back down to couple of plugs down on the passenger side of the inside of the centre console. There, you'll find two plugs. These are the plugs you plug the PC2 lead into. The PC2 lead will convert to ISO connectors which, hopfully, your new stero will have.

Use the original mounting brackets and you should find the holes in the side of the new stereo will mate up.

Hi Matt, thanx for ur info but the problems I have dont come from the leads it comes from the stereo, i didn't make this clear, so the problem I have is that the stereo came with plugs from the original wiring loom from another supra, but they don't match the wires in my car where the old stereo was..it seems the wiring colours are different.. if you can still help I would be most appreciative...

Did your car have an aftermarket stereo fitted when you bought it? If so somebody else would of installed the lead Matt said.

What i mean is if your car had only a had the standard double din unit in it then that stereo would be a straight install. You might want to visit a toyota dealer or a halfrauds and see what they suggest.

Is your car a jspec or uk as that might be the problem. You might have a jspec unit which wouldnt fit the leads in a uk or vice versa.

Thanx mate, yes it is an import and the problem that I seem to have is that the person I bought the radio from said it was from an import but obviously it appears not... have been to Halfords and they couldn't help. The radio I have bought has got its own plugs that came with it but to try and find out which wires are live and negative, which is my power ariel etc has totally confused me, i know that both plugs on my car are easy to know what is what as whoever had the car before me quite kindly marked each wire stating what it is and where it goes.. sorry to be a pain... again thanx 4 ur help...
