View Full Version : Golf Mk4 dash problems...
Have put this on www.uk-mkivs.net but no luck from them lot yet!!!
The bulb on my GF's Golf (mk4 1.8GTi Turbo) Petrol Gauge keeps going out, and coming back on. Only seems to do it after turning the engine off and back on. So its not like its a loose terminal each time we go over a bump etc.
Have heard from someoene with a Beetle that it means it needs a service, but she isnt really up with cars so could just be loosing the plot. And it was only serviced 3000miles (5 months) ago...
Anyone else with a Golf experienced this?
:D
I also run a mk4 golf but have never had this before. If the car needs a service I think it just says service in the milage area when you have just turned on the ignition.
Sorry I can't help
hmmmmm, cool ok. must be some crazy dodgy bulb then.

the car actually tells you when it needs servicing, I think it counts down from 2000 miles IIRC.
Sounds like you have a dodgy needle or something mate. I drive a golf and am a member of UK-mkivs but have never heard of this

My mate has a mkiv and he has had nothing but problems with the electronics - ie dash lights, internal lights staging on etc.
Not that this is helping you any as my mate may have an one off case. My seat has done some weird stuff like windows going down with the horn etc.
Hope u get it sorted!
i whacked the car! i was sitting there and i thought 'sod it, im gonna hit it' so i did :) and its been fine since.

Haha good lad!!! :d
LOL - I must admit the VAG range can be strange... My SEAT's been fantastic, *touches wood* - the problems I have tend to be with the modifications :(
