if toyota specify dexron 2 in the PAS why use T4 tranny fluid the stuff costs a bloody fortune

ive got 8 litres sitting here, I just need to know if its ok to use

the transmission fluid toyota specify is dextron II but you cant get it anymore so people choose the type IV ATF instead, so just wondered if its the same can be applied to the PS

Sorry for digging this old thread up, but I'm planning on doing a PAS fluid flush and change soon. I have previously used Halfrauds Dextron 3 with no issues in the PAS. I plan to use Toyota Type 4 ATF fluid this time round, as I have a good few litres spare lying around.

Is it definately OK to use the Type 4 ATF fluid in the PAS, especially after its had Dextron 3 in it for most of its life?

i cant see it being a problem but i do like to stick to what Mr T recomends, i personally would keep the type 4 due to the cost, if i lived near you i would quite happily buy you the equivant volume of Dex 3 and do a swap :D
