Steviekid
I'm spraying some of the plastic in my engine bay and was using Halfords white plastic primer with good results. Unfortunately I drastically underestimated how much I would need and Halfords have now ran out. I bought some Holts plastic primer thinking it would be much the same but I've just sprayed the next panel and it's clear watery stuff that just runs instantly . Is this right?? The cap on the tin is white but the numbers on the cap and on the bottom of the tin match so it can't have the wrong top. I've also tried two tins and they're both the same. I've never come across clear primer before or any spray that's so runny.
LeeT
it doesn't sound right to me. i take it you shook it up for a few minutes?

dangerous brain
Yeah that. I'd say the paint and the accelerant have seperated out and you are spraying accelerant pretty much. Being two cans means nothing as they will be stored in the same place temperature etc or may just be a dodgy batch.
Steviekid
Cheers guys, will take them back tomorrow. Definately says on the tin that the lid is the colour of the spray so somethings not right.
lockys96
lol, guess what mate, my bro bought some primer from hal-frauds and went to spray it, and laquer came out, he took it back, and the guy tested it, and said thats weird, and replaced it, they have labeled up a number of items incorrectly me thinks, lol
SUPRALOOPY
the stuff we use is clear and like piss. also it has tiny little fleck in it so you can tell when its covered. Just bear that in mind when taking it back..

Tricky-Ricky
Yeah the stuff i use is clear, never had a problem with it, its meant to be just a key coat to let other primers/paints adhere to it.
