Im collecting all my bits for my uk single, and pretty much the only 'big' thing left ive got to buy is an ecu.
I was going to buy a emanage ultimate off nic, but a few people have told me that it cant get rid of the MAF sensor, and IanC also tells me it cant be wired in to the ignition bits on a uk spec.
Does anyone know of another ecu that can get rid of the maf and control fueling etc? for a stage one phr turbo.
ive got my eye on the phr map ecu and harness, this will get rid of the maf sensor and also control the injectors etc.
LeeT is running one of these, anyone else got experience with one?

TerryS used to run one and VeilsideTT is running one too. Also i think chiefgroover used to use one. The only downside is no ignition control but the Americans don't seem to mind so neither do i

Map ecu works fine for the job you need. However it wont get rid of the 155mph limiter, and the HKS sld only puts it up to 179mph. So its the trac fuse out for fast top end runs.
Map ecu is easy to map in comparison to many others.

You can get a real bargain on them atm.

MVP are doing a special on these now, $50 cheaper than Powerhouseracing.

He has a 6speed so as long as he has RLTC he can do the trac delete and remove the trac ecu completely.

Map Ecu it is then :)
thanks for the input guys
wont need to remove the trac fuse...the speed limit is 70 remember :eyebrows:

Why not just Go AEM. Its only second to Motec.

Price I guess. MAP ECU is £200 plus shipping, AEM, is what £900? No contest if you've not got a few £k spare for ecu...

For those of us looking for a budget solution a standalone is simply not viable.

You could also go full emanage blue with both injection and timing control whilst using the MAP ECU. You would only be using the MAP ecu for AFM elimination and emanage to control fueling and timing. :d

Yup prices mainly, after forking all the money for the AEM ive gotta spend more getting it tuned.
Im after getting my car up and running, and then adding to it from there. So the MAP ECU would work a treat for that, for now :)

Emanage timing control does NOT work on a UK spec car. No one as yet has found out why.

Sheesh, Uk specs hey :D
See .. there is some benefits to having a jap spec :stickpoke :hide:

As lee stated, I run a PHR stage 1 on a MAP ECU.
It does the job very well and its given me no problems (untill now).
Although i would really like to get an AEM in there.

Im having major problems with the stock ECU doing strange things. Apparently, so im told, its to do with the VSV's that get left unplugged when you go single. Its complicated but its also in conjunction with my high stall and auto box.

Your 6 speed so wouldnt worry. ;)

Hey lee, did you have problems when you were single+auto+mapecu+highstall?

My cars like a bucking bronko when i floor it in first from stop since fitting the TC?

In the long run it may be more viable, its much cheaper to map. AEM cost alot yeah, but with Launch control and more tunning potential than piggybacks, surely it will be better for the single set up in the long run.

I agree!

Wish id have saved another £500-600 for an AEM when i went single.

But hey, it dont grow on tree's eh!
