grahamc Posted July 19, 2006 Share Posted July 19, 2006 What is the best way to go about cleaning a really dirty engine bay? My idea was WD40 on everything electonic, then cover it all, with something. Then spray engine de-greaser everywhere, then give it some time, and then attack it with a pressure cleaner. Then spend a load of time polishing all the metal parts. Is that about right?? Anything that I need to know before I start? Best products to use? Used a very good degreaser, covered everything electrical plus the air filter, left the degreaser on for about 10 mins then a combination of steam cleaner and pressure washer. Came up a treat. Unfortuntely ive no "after" pics as tbh there wasnt much difference after washing it. The engine bay itself was pretty clean already i just thought it might take some of the discolouration off the Cam Covers and Throttle body but it didnt.
