depending on how the wheel is made its not necessarily true that a large wheel weighs more. My volk 18s weight less than my stock 17s.

 

The main goal is to reduce unsprung weight as then theres less weight for the suspension to cope with when cornering. However it can all be wrecked if you use the wrong offsets, if the tyre pressures are wrong or if your suspension is too hard.

 

Its a minefield really, which is why racing teams take so much time trying to get it right.

Pretty sure my Weds are quite light, seem to remember a figure of about 8.5 Kg's, didnt think that was to bad?

 

Who cares, they look the nuts! :)

 

The 18" SA-70's are around 8 - 8.5kg if I remember correctly, this was one of the reasons why I chose to fit them on my own car. They are quite a lot lighter than the AVS wheels I replaced which were around 11.5kg each.
