Well on the way to work today i notice the temps rising above the normal middle point, so i know somethings wrong...2 mins later i slow for traffic still watching the guage...i see smoke coming from the bonnet so i dive into a restaurant carpark, open the bonnet to the smell of what i now know to be coolant!

I left the car there and walked the rest to work, about a mile or so. Came back at lunch and inspected to find the bottom rad pipe seems to have split (i squeeze it and i can here air comming out!.

My dilemer now is:1-how much is a new one (im skint as jsut replacing Clutch/flywheel)
2-Will i have done any further damage to my engine, im really worried now as obviously it was running pretty much without coolant!!!

if its split then you have no option but to get a new one mate, they arent too expensive from toyota as i remmber getting one a few months back. As for other damage caused well you will need to get it taken to a decent garage and get them to a few tests for you (compression, sniffer), hopefully it won“t be that bad for you.

They expensive Wez?

Because Incape Toyota priced the bottom pipe at £10ish to replace! This sounds really cheap so i casked them to confirm and they said yep £10, the top one is the same sort of money aswell!
