stuohy
I'm going to see a 94 Supra this evening, and running its plates through the RAC checker shows that the last owner change was in April this year. The guy selling says he owns the car; should I be suspicious? Many thanks, Simon:innocent:
Rayman
Suspicious about not owning it long you mean?
stuohy
Yes; just wondering, as he only appears to have owned it for 3 months...
Rayman
Id be slightly suspicious but it might be that he bought it spare of the moment and didnt realise running costs. TT or NA?
stuohy
NA... He said earlier that his friend was selling him a car that he really wanted... so possible I guess?!
Rayman
Could be, you could always ask if he minds you getting it inspected even if you dont get it inspected. Apart from that just keep your eyes/ears open for anything suspect on the test drive. And only buy it if your 100% on it, no doubts, very hard to do i know when looking at the supra as they look so great you just wanna buy buy!! whats the spec, mileage, any service history? Lewis
I have never owned a car longer than 6-9months so I wouldn't rule it out as a bad job. Just ask all the right questions mate.
stuohy
Thanks for your replys guys! I don't really know much about the standard spec on Supras... this one seems to be well kitted out though (auto, leather, aircon, eletric everything), 72k, FTSH. I'll (attempt) to keep objective! Well if its got recorded service history from when it came into the country from Japan then thats a good thing.
stuohy
It's private, £4250. Said he'd dropped it from £4750, and wouldn't accept any lower at all. From the pictures (there are about 6) it appears to be in good condition; can't see any rust or body damage...

Rayman
cool - it has one of those V6 engines in it too - very rare PMSL, apart from that if its got service records it looks good from reading the advert even if the owner doesnt have a clue what engine is in it! stuohy
Yea, I was really trying to find one of those with the three cylinder engines arranged in an "X" shape, but just too rare I guess...
