What does REM stand for and where does it connect to on the headunit ???

I know most after market stereos are equiped with this blue cable but I cant see it on mine tbh, can it be fed from elsewhere ?

No, specifically says NOT to do that in the manual !
"Connect the 18 gauge wire provided in the amplifier power kit to the amplifier turn-on wire on the radio. It should be a blue wire on an aftermarket radio. Make sure you are not connecting the remote turn-on wire to the power antenna wire because it may also be blue"

Sorted, multimetre on the cables and find the cable that inputs the 12v when switched on ! apparently :)

Any headunit that doesn't have a specific remote cable can use the electric aerial output. It's only an output that goes live when the unit is in use. The reason your amplifier manual is saying not to use an electric aerial output is because some units turn off the electric aerial if a source other than the radio is selected.
Trust me, I've been doing this for 15 years ;)
