Rover tyre sizes

Got a Rover 420 and it's got an odd size tyre as standard, 195/55/15.
I need to replace at least two but looking around I could get all four done alot cheaper if I went for 195/50/15's.
Would this make much difference, I assume it'll handle better (couldn't handle much worse:d )

Yep, the speedo will be out but you'd probably not use that driving a Rover (or it'll be broke already) ;)

Now I would think that a common car would have common tyre sizes, maybe the ones on there now are odd cos they were cheap at the time lol

Yep, I checked the owners manual and they are standard. In the end I did a 'cash deal' with the dodgy tyre place down the road and got a pair of the correct size for a fiver more than the others I was thinking of so not too bad in the end:) Now for some high speed cornering action:d or maybe not !!?
