VW aircon diagnostics?

Does anyone know if VW (2001 Passat) has a diagnostic mode for the air con like the supra has?

If so can you point me in the direction of how to access it and what the codes mean.

is youre aircon just not working. if so we have all the bosch diagnostic equipment and all the hella aircon stuff. i can try and find out on our computers tomorrow for you matey. andy

Thanks, Its my bosses car, aparently it all lights up as it should but no fan.

From things he has said, it doesnt sound like a dead fan but one of the sensors.

i would think if it has sensors on it you could gain access to the air con system through the normal diagnostic port. itll just be a normal obd i would think on a vw. any diagnostic centre should be able to check for a fault

He asked VW to look at it last time it went for a service, and of course it was working ok that day so they didnt bother!

He would like to be able tyo fix it himself.

If it the same as my seat you can get codes off the web to check the diagnostics yourself. I did a search on google and got them!:d
