I've got a clunk at the left rear that has been increasing lately. I've discussed this with a mechanic friend and he suggested it sounded like a drop-link based on the following:
1. When i go over a bump that is across the road, ie a seam in the tar, that
moves both wheels, the noise isnt there.
2. When I go over a bump on the right side, the noise isnt there.
3. Only when I go over a bump or imperfection on the left side only there is a
clunk/rattle.
4. When I turn sharply either way to test, it makes no noise either side.
5. Its not the hatch, I know this sound well.
6. Using braking over bumps makes no difference.
So does this sound like a possible source of my, very, annoying clunk/bump/rattle going over bumps? Or what else could it be. Ive had sub-frame bolts etc tightened up already.
