ross
Just picked up my 6 sp tt at the weekend. The guy who imported it told me that that the car had done 88 000 kilometers as indicated on the dash (about 53,000 miles apparently). But he told me that the mileometer was now counting in miles because thats the way its done these days. He also said that I would be able to find someone quite easily who could change the readout to reflect the true mileage. Anyone got any thoughts on this? I thought it was illeagal to change the speedo.

Lewis
I know someone who can do it, not sure if they want to offer the service though as it leads the door open to people falsifying their mileage

supRo
With a Thor convertor you have the option to have the ODO to carry on in KM or miles
Ewen
JIC (as was) 'clocked' mine as soon as it was over here and sorted for UK. The original kilometer mileage was changed to the equivelent mileage during de-limit and conversion.

Homer
There's still a few people arouind that will do this, try a search here As far as I'm aware it's illegal. Its one of the reasons I kept mine clocking up in Km, at last then there's less question over the cars real mileage.
Guest Jacksupra
its not illegal to "clock" a car... its only illegal if you guarantee the mileage when you sell the car.. however im looking for a person to do mine as well
