gaz1
sounds like the starter motor, give it a tap then try it
BarnyB
That happened with mine, eventually I got it fixed. I know it sounds really daft, but in the mean time you can try vigorously bouncing the car up and down, it was enought to get mine started for weeks!! Just don´t ask, I can´t think how I discovered that bouncing around in the drivers seat woarked, but it wasn´t anything sketchy, ok!! uk-rich
put it in gear and push it. only a foot or so, this sometimes frees it, if it is stuck
Godmutha
Could be the solenoid in the starter motor. Apparently a common problem. It may just need re-soldering (sp).... nothing major
pistonbroke
Flat battery, it may have enough charge for your windows and lights, but the starter motor is quite heavy duty stuff, so needs a massive charge, also, check the connections on the battery, my positive terimal needed modifying when mine did this once. S7EVE
Chances are this will happen again Adam... If it does its a starter motor problem, Toyota do a replacement kit. Around £15, need to get underneath the car to get at her. Starter motor part nos are:28226-74070 and 28226-22050 - courteousy of Trick152
