I had a leak down test done today and the results were:

1 93

2 89

3 92

4 94

5 94

6 88

Ok so no.6 isnt great but its an old engine on 110,000

So my next plan of action is:

Valve stem oil seals

valves and tappets sorted and head skimmed when they are being done.

boost logic 650 injectors

boost controller - the colourful blitz one

Aeromotive FPR

Oil Catch tank

Breater pipes plumbed into correct places

Heat shield for my air filter

chris wilson pads

goodridge hoses

+ the future motorsport prize i wont at the DB06 (i cant remember what it is though)

I think that just about covers it for now.

Then i plan to run that at 1.2 bar and have an option for 1.4 on the boost controller for cold days and ferrari killing moments (providing the engine seems to cope with 1.4) until i can afford a new uprated bottom end.

With regards the late boost problem, i hope this will be sorted by this work being done. If not we will start hunting again.

Good news for me though as i was planning to take the car off the road to save for the rebuild :D

Looks like you wont be getting rid of mr and mrs pig just yet :D

I dont think so mate, gives me about 6 weeks to have her ready. It would be ok but i havent even ordered the parts yet and im going to have to get her re-mapped!

Oh well, im just so pleased ill still be able to use the car :D:D:D:D

Yep, i went up to pheonix. Mark will be doing the work on the car.

I think it depends on how many miles the engine has done. On average miles i wouldnt expect less than 90 mate. 88 is on the low side, hence that i will be saving for a new bottom end!

If you are taking the head off it will be worth your while to have new valve guides fitted as well as seals.

Really?? Mark didnt mention this to me! Were talking along the lines or re-building the top, so the head will be coming off!

I don't get those figures, leakdown tests are usually shown as a percentage figure, with a freshly buil race engine showing mayber 2 or 3 % and a just about running old nail about 30%.
