Just booked the Supra in for a Clifford Concept 650P at a cost of £500.

The question i'm asking is that I already have a Sterling Touch Cat 2 immobiliser and i'm wondering whether to have this left in as well as the new Clifford or just get it taken out altogether.

Any advice appreciated.

ask the fitters, but i think they will advise to remove it, as it may interfere with the clifford

It won't interfere, but I would personally take it out. If only because disarming both systems all the time will become very tedious.

Are you having any extras with that? - Seems a bit expensive. Sorry, not trying to put you off, or tout for work, but they're RRP is only £439 normally.

Thanks for the replies so far.

That was one of my concerns could see disarming two systems quite annoying.
The price i've been quoted is for the 650P which if I recall correctly includes:

Dual proximity sensors
Boot and bonnet protection
Anti hi-jack
Various auto locking
Alarm
Immobiliser

I think I've remembered everything. Obviously that's all fitted. I do trust the guy doing it as I've known him for over 4 years now and he is an established authorised Clifford dealer and installer.

Might be worth questioning the price in a friendly way. The items you've listed are standard features of the Concept 650P. There are different versions of the C650, it can come with ultrasonics, that retails at £379, you can get it with a tilt and motion sensor, which retails at £399, and the one you're going for with the dual zone proximity sensor which should retail for £439. All those prices are inclusive of installation and VAT.
Generally, I charge £340 for the same system as you're having done, assuming no extras. Don't take that as touting for work, I'm just trying to show you why I would question the price a little :)

What I don't recommend is mobile installation companies. I've had dealings with many of them, (most of them), and generally they knock the out cheap, and do them at your house which sounds appealing, until you realise that it's been thrown in because the fitter wants to get either home or to his next job as quick as possible. Very often it hasn't been fitted/tested properly, (I've seen countless Supra's with incorrect immobiliser wiring, which would make it a doddle to steal). And when you want them to come back, you either can't get hold of them, or they'll charge you to come back.
Of course there are some decent mobile guys, but a large majority or them are a bloody nightmare.
