I was thinking more along the lines of the car was made in 97 and first registered in Japan in 98 and therefore could possibly be a non VVTi. The problem I have is that I haven't seen the car yet and dont want to alert the seller to the possibility that it is worth more :)

Can you not just ask for a pic of the engine bay Col and say you just want to make sure it is a turbo model or see the condition.

Can we not tell from the frame number or model type?

I know you can see if it's facelift or not, but not sure if it's vvti or not?

Yes you should be able to on the EPC.

Actually heres a quick way Col. If the frame number is greater than 1000849 its deffo a VVTI.

Now that is interesting as he sent me this as a number 10032** (BTW, I dont have the last 2 digits)
