Hi guys

Just after a bit of advice from you knowledgable lot. I picked up a Wizard of Noz Direct Port kit with 50bhp jets plus a twin purge kit for the grand total of £350....kushti - I then rang James @ Innovative Perfomance and Russel @ Nitrous Solutions to see about getting it fitted to my J-spec and they told me the price...not so kushti !

Due to labour and the time it will take I was quoted £800 from one and £1200 from the other and was told that the head etc would have to come off hence the price and 2/3 day time estimate. Far being it for me to question this as I only know the basics but does this sound right/have any of you guys got D.P Nitrous and why can't the injectors just be drilled into the perenial chamber and Bob's your uncle ?

Any help would be appreciated muchly before I go spunk the garden budget on my car lol.

No need to go through all that for just 50bhp.If I was you I'vd run the nos straight in to the intercooler or airbox behind the filter.Dont know if you're NA or TT though.

Owen developments charged me 600£ for direct port with progressive controller!

That sounds extortionate! Can't see whay the head would have to come off, seems like BS to me. Have you contacted Ant at WON directly? They do fitting and the like; it's a bit of a drive for you but their prices are more reasonable and they really know what they're doing! He can even talk you through the easier bits to save you money.

Perenial chamber??? :conf:

I'm no NOS guru but I would have thought that it was just a manifold off job, not the head.

Perhaps plenum :) I'd say manifold off job as well. Can't see any reason to pull the cylinder head!

Head is not needed to come onf. ONly use direct port, and they sit low in each intake runner.

Might want to try the Wizards of Nos forum available through their website (www.noswizard.com)

Thanks people. Sorry forgot to say I have a TT. 50bhp is just what it happened to have with it but apparently with DP and a progressive controller it could happily have up to 150bhp jets. I'll get on to the people you suggested and see what they say.

Some points to remember;

Start at 25bhp jets and work upwards in 25 increments
Get a full leakdown test beforehand
You should really have progressive for anything at or over 50bhp

The old Toyota blocks can handle a hell of a lot of abuse if you treat them with a certain amount of respect - there's a chap that used to be on the WON and celica-club forum who has an old gen 5 celica (150bhp as standard) and he's fed that with another 150bhp of nitrous - it's his daily driver and has been problem free for the last few years he's run it.
