I see a lot of folks don't have a Country and Location listed under their avatar. I think it looks tidier but I can't see how to remove it from my profile.

Is this something I can myself or do I need a Moderator to do it for me?

Thanks

They're a bit gaga anyway.

Country: United Kingdom
Location: Non-UK Member

How does that work?

It's not anybodys fault - just the forum software doesn't link zones to countries.

I think an admin will have to remove it for you. You can't remove the country or location field (in your profile settings) once it's been set.

Goto user CP edit profile and go to the top of the drop down menus where its blank that should remove them.

wasn't this only the 'first faze' of Mawbys master plan to tie in events with your individual locations ie. a possible "event notification service" feature type thing.

I tried that before, Doug. When you try to save the changes it says
"A required field called Country is missing or has an invalid value."

I guess it's a NOT NULL column on the database table.

I see a lot of folks don't have a Country and Location listed under their avatar. I think it looks tidier but I can't see how to remove it from my profile. Those folks simply haven't edited, or attempted to edit, their profile since I changed the free text location field into two dropdown selections. These cannot be left blank, just like the old location field couldn't be left blank either.

Now I could clever with a bit of template editing and only display the county if it's not UK, and only display the location if it is UK. That would remove one field per user.

Thinking about this, what if I just made one big Locations list which included both the current Countries and Locations lists? That would cut down on the amount of space used displaying this information.
