My girlfriend's Seat Leon 1.4S (1999) seems to be having trouble when re-starting when warm.

I used to have a Toledo that wasn't great for this but it still started after the second attempt.

Just wondering if you guys have experienced this before or have an idea what would cause it in a Leon? It just seems to be getting worse and when she tried to restart if this morning after stopping for five minutes it took some time to get it going.

Vapour lock in the fuel lines can cause this, especially if the engine is running hot, or the ambient temperature is high.

Next time it happens try flooring the throttle slowly and then turning the key and see if it starts easier.
I have this problem on my pug and it's due to a combination of a rich mixture and a defective choke diaphram.
