Can anyone tell me if i change the colour of my car from light grey to dark gray do i have to inform the DVLA

Yeah cos the colour code will have changed and thats on your documents

Don't think so.

The Reg Doc states the colour, not the shade or colour code.

It's still grey!

The colour code is meaningless to the DVLA if it's an aftermarket colour.:)

What does it say on the logbook at the moment? If it says Silver then changing it to dark grey isn't really gonna wash. If it just says Grey then, like others have said, it's still grey.

Is it a big deal for you to tell the DVLA anyway? It's not exactly a lot of hassle, is it?
