SupraAyf
Guys, First post for me and I have to say that this club is outstanding!! (Signed up as soon as I got back from the Japfest at the WE). I've had a Supra 1996 facelift for 2 years and I'm not getting as much as I want done cos I'm always away. I live in the Portsmouth area and I was wondering if any of you knew a first class garage to help me finish my car (turbo hybrid fitting and de-catting etc - that sort of thing). Any help would be much appreciated, Cheers, Andrew

Jake
Hi Andrew. There's no Supra specialists around here mate. ToyodaTech in Fareham are supposed to be good but I've never used them myself. I reckon it's better to take it somewhere that knows Supras if you aren't happy to do it yourself. Phoenix in Watford are very good. Paul Whiffin also has a good rep. Decatting and BPU etc is pretty basic stuff that you could probably manage yourself. You can always post on here if there's anything you're stuck with. Why are you considering Hybrids mate? Are you having problems with the stock turbos?
Lee GZ
cheers squiffy mate your's looks sweet too...! where about in hampshire are you then bud.?
Elliot
I use Toyoda Tech for all my servicing / repairs etc, but not sure about them for "modding" the Supra as I've never asked. If I remember correctly, Stuart down there had a big power Supra at some point in the past, so it might be worth giving them a call to discuss what you're after. SupraAyf
Hi Jake, If that's your gunmetal Sup in the frame then I would be well pleased with that bud! I went to a place in Basingstoke (in a small retail park) last year and the guy (Paul) mentioned that hybrids could be purchased as part of his stage 5 BPU package. The cost was 4 grand for everything but I've since surfed the net for all the bits'n'pieces and I've now got most of the 14-piece kit for 'much' less than the new price - so the only reason is due to his initial advice saying that 420-450 break was quite sufficient. I've only got the de-cat, FPR, walbro and IC to get and I'm looking at the large Hybrid GT Spec IC for that job. Top of the range Aeromotives FPR's are cheap in the USA and eBays doing 342's for £74 at the mo). Any help or winks though would also be well received by this Supra Nut Cheers for your help Jake, Regards Buddy, Andrew Decatting and BPU etc is pretty basic stuff that you could probably manage yourself. Jake
Yes mate, the pic in my sig is my car. That place in Basingstoke you're talking about is Max GT and Paul Kent, right? I heard they have closed now and apparently some Supra folks were left badly in the lurch. He's also been banned from mkivsupra.net as well. If I was you I would get to BPU stage first and see how it goes. You might well find that it's all the power you need. This would save you the bother and expense of a FPR, FMIC, Hybrid turbos, etc.

SupraAyf
M8, I agree and then some!!!! I visited them the other day and found that the work estimate was going to be so big (for not much effort), that I would have had to re-mortgage the house (almost). They saw me coming a mile off so I won't be going there!!!! Cheers for you honest advice; much appreciated m8:iagree: You're the first person I've come across in 6 years that's said something good about them.
