I finally got my car back after almost 3 months of no use as I was waiting for the new BL box to get here and have it all installed.

I had the work done at Phoenix and I am very impressed with the work that Mark has done for me. This is one of the only times that I have ever been able to bring my car to some place without any major dramas. He did everything I wanted and even more. I highly recommend Phoenix if you need any work done.

Work I had done is:

Replace the old BL gearbox and 3800 TC with new units

Front and rear crank seals

Tappets shimmed

BL crank pulley installed

Unorthodox racing cam gears and other pulleys installed

New plugs

New BOV

Timing belt

Fluidyne radiator

Twin electric fans with polished fan shroud

New K&N filter

Hosetechnics hose kit

KAD 6 pot brakes on all four corners

Fluidyne transmission cooler with spal fan

Powerhouse racing 175a alternator

New battery

New serpentine belt

I have also added a bit of engine bling...

Polished PS pot

PHR Polished plug cover

Real carbon fibre cooling plate and fuse cover

There is probably a few other bits that I am forgetting but you get the idea...

The car seems to be running great now and I am very pleased. :)

The next thing to do is a respray in the same color that I will have done as soon as I can get it booked in....

Here are some pictures.

Good job mate, must be nice for CJ to see that his old pride and joy is being treated VERY well :)

Incidentally, why did the BL gearbox need replacing ?

I think the problem was that I ran it too hot as I did not fully understand how the TC lock-up switch should be used. I do not know what the damage is on the old gearbox yet. It could be either the TC itself that needs fixing or the clutch packs need to be replaced. I am going to either have it looked at or I just might flog it as is for a really sweet price and the new owner can sort out what needs fixing...
