Hey All,

Seems the right region for this!!

On 1st July (will confirm the date but pretty sure that's the one!) the local school near my bro in Birling, Kent is having an open day and he suggested a few Supra's attend to give the kids something to look at! :d

Probably only be for a few hours but would be great to show the kids what a REAL performance car looks like!! ;)

I'll supply better details once I have a chance to catch up with him but just wondered if I could count on any of you to help out? Should be a bit of fun and would look superb in contrast to the usual toot at these kinda things!!! :d

Let me know please guys & girls!!

Cheers,

Pete :)

Birling is just down the road from me mate. anything for the kids.

That's a first. A Supra with ice cream and chocolate graphics....:)

adam
19-05-06, 09:28
makes a good point. No ice cream or chocolate within a 100 yard radius :d

Peter P
19-05-06, 12:20
BELIEVE ME - I thought of this and reckon the barbed-wire fence, security guards and the Rotties will be enough discouragemnt!! ;) :d

No seriously, I can try to get a section cut-off with some rope or tape to prevent anyone getting to close for comfort!! :d

Cheers Adam so far then we have:

1. Peter P
2. Adam

Ideally looking for a minimum of 3 please guys and girls!

The event is running from approx 12pm to 4pm and we have now been added to the fliers and given a separate pitch to set the cars up.

Would be a good opportunity to meet a few of you and maybe convince you to attend the Wendens Ambo Meet i'm hosting down in Elmdon which is only an hour and a bit from Birling/Kent.

At the end of the day, the kids will really enjoy something like this and it may help convince them that Ferrari and Porsche aren't necessarily the only cool fast performance cars!! :D

I may be able to convince Steve L to join me but I think he has a BBQ that day!

Saturday 1st July - 12 till 4pm

Let me know please guys and girls!

Cheers,

Pete :)

Guys that's awesome and as mentioned earlier would be great if you can all attend to give the kids a really top notch show!! :)

I will get the postcode details sorted ASAP (speak to my bro at lunchtime today) and stick them up for you guys to checkout.

I can tell you it's 5mins from Junction 3 of the M20 close to West Malling which should be traceable but can do a postcode for more accurate location.

Gamer, Muffleman, toyotatom would really be good if you can make it to make this more of a show/meet and yes i'm sure there will be a burger van or bbq there somewhere toyotatom!! ;) we all gotta eat right! :d

If Burt and Klump are available as well then get them signed up!! We could see an awesome turnout and something to really get the sleepy villagers pulses racing!! ;) :d

Let me know guys and keep up the cheerleading please Adam!! ;) You will appreciate how awesome 8/10 Supes on show in Birling will be!! :d

I looked up the town and it is only 30 or so miles from me so I should be able to come. Just make sure you do post up the postcode when you get it as I am useless without my Sat-nav.... ;)

toyotatom
02-06-06, 10:32
Uh-Oh! Im meant to be working that day. But dont worry, the admin woman at work has a soft spot for me so I might be able to get out of it :eyebrows:

Peter P
02-06-06, 12:55
Right this is actually my bro's house postcode but it's literally 200 yards down the road and is fine as a meet point: ME19 5JR

toyotatom - If you can use your charm on the admin lady it'd be great as I say if we aim for say 8/10 then that's plenty but as we are talking about 4 weeks time no doubt things may crop up and mean people can't make it but hopefully that's enough notice for people to re-arrange things if possible.

There will be a BBQ on the day and a beer tent so that side of things looks covered! ;)

The event itself is due to run from 12 - 4 (don't quote me on that as my bro is going to double check but he thinks that's what they agreed) so I reckon if we aim to meet for say 10am that will give us some time to do final cleaning and get the cars parked up etc.

If anyone need further info just post up here or PM me and I will get back to you ASAP.

Thanks guys for the support and hopefully see you all in just under a month's time!

Pete :)

Peter P
02-06-06, 15:39
dal007 - More than welcome to attend m8 and as for enough - do kids know the meaning of that word?! ;)

No as I said we can probably fit say 10 of us in but I have asked my bro to double check with the school / organisers to confirm if there will be any restrictions on the amount of space/cars we can bring.

I will post something up when I get the info but for now consider yourself added to the list dal007!!

With all due respect, what the hell has showing off yours Supras got to do with the school?

Isnt it an open day to show off the school for the kids, why do they need a supra meet going on to distract everyone away from whats actaully important? Are your supras going to be there all year round? has the school actually agreed to it? sounds like something they would want to steer clear of to me.

Seems to me like your doing it for all the wrong reasons..

Peter P
06-06-06, 17:02
'With all due respect' and ' ' kind of cancel each other out don't they?! ;)

This is not a school open day my choice of wording is probably not overly clear so apologies!

This is a fun day type thing i.e school funday etc with beer tent for parents, games, raffles and face painting etc so not the kind of event you are thinking of.

Also, I was approached by my brother who had suggested the idea to the teacher at the school organising the event that we could organise a few Supra's to park up and display to which THEY said yes please that would be different and the kids would love it as they enjoy seeing mine when I visit my brother.

Quite what your point is or why you felt the need to post when no one asked for it and we have more than met the target as far as numbers I don't quite understand?!

I for one would have loved this kinda thing when I was at school rather than the boring putting contests, face painting and other stuff they did back then!

I will sort out some directions for those who need them nearer the day but thanks for your offers to attend and I'll keep you posted.

Any other queries let me know.

Pete :)

To answer the other bits:

Yes this is confirmed for Saturday 1st July so that is a fixed date for everyone to work with.

Also, I spoke to my sister-in-law last night and this is officially titled as 'the school summer fete' and will be raising money for the school (therefore a fund-raiser as opposed to anything elsa). There will be a BBQ, beer tent, stalls including beat the goalie etc as well as raffles, face painting etc.

I am just waiting for confirmation of any space limitations and will let you know as soon as I get any further info.

Looks good for a mini-meet and a nice day out after the Japshow at Santa Pod the week before!

Any further queries let me know and I will also sort out the directions for anyone who needs them, otherwise, the postcode I supplied will be enough for anyone who wants to look it up with AA routeplanner etc. The postcode again for ease of reference is: ME19 5JR

Thanks again and see you soon!!

Dont know if anyone would be interested, or if this is a good idea (Peter, hope im not stealing your thunder here) but we could get everyone together and then convoy into the school?

Can Muffleman confirm if he can get to this yet?! I know he had some doubt a week or so back but was not strictly a no go????? ;)

dal007_ - Not to worry m8 if your hands are tied as such then that's what you need to do.

ToyotaTom was a question mark last week - Any news m8 on whether you can make it???

We are now only 5 and a bit days away guys so if you need to ask me anything please do. The postcode should be enough to get you to my bro's place which is as I said 2mins from the school so that isn't a problem.

My mobile number is: 07734 994867

If you could all have it with you and ring me if you have any problems before Saturday I'd be grateful. Should be ok to help with directions if any of you get stuck so just let me know.

For those who have been unable to make it, thanks for trying and wanting to help put on a good show for the kids I really appreciate it. At the end of the day I was asked to provide 2/3 for this and was bowled over by the positive response from you all, even if we lost anymore (please don't!!! ;) :D ) those who make it will be more than enough i'm sure.

Remember, when we all get too old for these beasties it's the kids who will be responsible for seeing this legend thrive and prosper!!!! :d

Thanks again and call me if you need to.

Cheers,

Pete :)

I am still good to go as long as it does not rain. I have made a promise to myself to not drive the car in the rain unless it is totally necessary or unavoidable. I really would like to keep the paintwork in it's current pristine condition.

'as long as it does not rain' - Sadly I am still attempting to master the art of weather control but will do what I can!!! :d ;)

No that's fair enough m8 and I believe the 5 day forecast is looking reasonable for that area! (crosses fingers!!).

Can anyone needing further info of any sort give me a call on the mobile number I provided please.

Follow London Rd out of town centre as if going to East/West Malling. Through Aylesford/Larkfield etc til you get to massive crossroads with Kings Hill on left and Castle Way on right (Leybourne). Straight across to small roundabout, then straight over again. Look for Sign to Ryarsh on the right and a road called Roughetts Road. Go down there to another crossroads and turn right. Through lanes til you see the Town Hall on your right opposite playing field.

That is a good pic Rob for a camera phone anyways!! :d

There were some proper digital high res ones taken on the day as well which will be sent to me at some stage next week I hope so will upload them once received.

Footie was predictable though to be honest and we can't claim to have played that well in this world cup! Lucky we got as far as we did in some ways!!! ;) :d

I drove home at 2am last night, been with my son all today and am ready to sleep for a week!!!

RobAce can I PM you iro the DIY single you did please m8? Just wondering if you'd be for hire with enough beer and snacks of course!!! ;) :d

People were still talking about our drivers start your engines moment when I left at 2am so it's safe to say we made a lasting impression!!! :d

More Supe's next year and maybe some other clubs as well??

Great day out and really nice to meet you all!!! :)

Pete
