Take my advice and buy a Power FC for it. Mine is stock bottom end with just some decent rod bolts, thick head gasket, Apexi hydraulic cams (mild), Apexi RX-6 remote wastegate turbo on Apexi cast iron manifold, 550 cc injectors (RX-7 ones), bigger fuel pump, bigger AFM, unknown exhaust, no cat, Giken twin plate clutch on my own ultralight flywheel. Mapped properly it makes a totally reliable 460 BHP at the flywheel, measured on a proper engine dyno, on super unleaded. It will make this power on ordinary unleaded with no knock, but I play safe. That's probably enough for a stock gearbox. I can duplicate this engine save for the Apexi turbo and manifold, as they are now obsolete, but there are alternatives freely available.

As for your car it depends on cams and the turbo. The stock turbo is a waste of time, to get any sort of power you need to change exhaust manifold and turbo, and lower the very high compression ratio. If I had to guess, on a stock turbo and manifold, running a very very brave 1.00 bar, you might see 340 BHP for a short while. Then the tubo will fail catastrophically and probably take the bores and pistons with it, if det hasn't seen them off already. You need to lower compression and go aftermarket turbo and manifold, then they will fly.

I am putting a GTR engine in mine next, but time and money are constraining me. If you look through likely sounding folders on my ftp site you will some pics of stuff I have done to it. Most work is to the drivetrain and suspension, rather than the engine. ftp://ftp.chriswilson.tv/
