Gazboy
Right, I've got to admit defeat and actualy replace my battery. Could someone tell me what size battery from halfords fits a J-specTT? Cheers!
Ewen
Halfords dont do a straight forward replacement...they have batteries the right overall size to suit the top clamp and the connection pins, but these arnt up to it cold crank wise....the batteries they sell that are the correct crank size are larger bodied with bigger connection pins....after a bit of advice on here, I ended up with a big bodied battery, new top clamp from Toyota, and bastardised connections....beware, you can buy connectors from Toyota but they are extortionate and one of them is the wrong size anyhoo. Gazboy
Oh Ok, how much would Toyota charge for a new battery?
Ewen
Battery £56 (Halfords do a similar biggie slightly cheaper, but as I dont like em I stuck with Mr. T) If your top clamp has narrow brackets on it, youl need a new clamp @ £8. As I said, tempted by spanking new terminal ends that Toyota say will fit ? ...thatl be £45 for the pair. And one of em dont fit. As a note, I ran a lower cold crank battery on my previous MkIV for an entire summer with no probs, but cheeky little bugger told me to f off when it got colder. Prof. Monkey
Try: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=68396 Expensive, but totally awesome battery. Should last longer than the stock one!
Supraudi
I can get one exactly the same as the original J-Spec one for £40. But you would have to collect from Bham. Brand new of course.
