I have a Campower 1 Farad capacitor but i am re-doing my ice install.

I found i helped before running 2 x 500w subs from an Alpine amp.

Question is.... is it still really needed as i will be using the same Alpine amp (mrv 1507) to run 2 x 8" subs (roughly 250w).

If i don't really need it i may sell it if anyone is interested. It is the same as in the link and a very good bit of kit.

anyone?

I have heard it might be just as well to upgrade my cables and ground instead of using a cap, unless i had a really big system?

anyone any thoughts on this? :search:

it wont do you any harm putting it in oyu will get a constant powerful bass instead of slight wariations in the deepness of the dound due to not enough power. Oh and it will stop your lights flickering.

I use a 1 Farad Cap, im running x2 8 inch subs, and 2 sets of components, 2 amps, found it does help with the lights, but as long as your cable and battery is good you might not need it, but its not going to do any harm..!

Nope it wont, will just drop the light pulsing at high volumes. What size cables are you running from the battery to the cap..?

don't know what gauge wire it is but it is as thick as my finger so should be ok i think.

Sounds like 4 gauge which is what i would suggest to run subs, power cap not really nessasary but like others have said it helps to produce a constant flow with no variations
