sorry about another question...
-jspec 93 n/a auto-

sometimes when im at traffic lights or stopped at a junction theres a loud rattle from under the car. (cant feel anything inside the car) it doesnt happen all the time which is odd.

the gearbox is in D and if i put it in N or park the rattle goes...

strange thing is it sometimes happens when im in N... its got me a little worried... i thought it might be the exhaust but im thinking diffrent now, i had a look but couldnt see anything.

i have the exact to the letter same problem, and mines is a loose heat shield, thats it a sodden heat shield, as the toyota exhaust are riddled with them

Type IV ATF neglected fluid changes can cause the little blue sphere type valves in the box from seating properly and this can cause a loud ticking sound. When I first got my car it did it, did a drain and change and away it went.

I had this recently. It was a damaged heatshield on the turn of the exhaust, probably caught it on a speed bump. I just bent it a little and the noise went away.

Sometimes you can get away with securing them with wire ties to stop them rattling (use copper wire or something).......
