View Full Version : PHR Racing alternator
Hi Jarrett,
I am copying my post in another thread as it might get better attention by you in this section..
Have you ever had anyone from the UK (Or a J-Spec Supra owner) purchase one of your Racing alternators (175a). I have one and we are having problems because the round to oval Toyota connector has a different plug then what is needed for my '95 J spec....
Any help you could give me such as where I might be able to locate the correct adaptor or any tips on what can be done (wired up without the connector maybe ?)
If not I will have no choice but to return the Alternator for a refund.
Your advertising on the PHR site stating that this is a direct fit and all items are supplied does not hold true if you have a J-Spec Supra it seems.... ;)

Hi Gamer,my PHR alternator came with a wire adaptor.Just plug and play.I did however need to modify the mounting bracket slightly.Works a treat.Great product.
Thanks for the info SupraHuman...
Can you possibly tell me what you needed to modify on the mounting bracket.
Also I assume that you are using the Gates drive belt as well ?

Hi mate,as you can see on your PHR alternator the mounting holes is a straight 12 o'clock 6 o'clock configuration. As to the stock one got a 12o'clock/half 4 o'clock configuration. The boomerang shaped bracket that came with the kit,I needed to extend the slotted hole about 10mm due to the fact the fan belt was on to tight.Did not have any more to go on the belt tensioner.
And yes i got the Gates belt fitted.
Good luck Gamer,it's no big deal really, and it makes a hell of a difference.Any probs just PM me mate.

We were changing over DNS servers so no biggie. I'm sure lots of emails got bounced back for a couple of days.. no sweat. I'm glad to have it running..
Thanks,
Just wanted to let you know that they managed to get the Alternator fitted.
