Boot clunking? (not rubbers)

Been recently plauged with a knocking noise from the boot area of the rear, particularly noticable over dodgy road surfaces. The boot rubbers were replaced about a year ago and the noise I'm getting isn't the usual tell-tail squeeking.

If I push down on the boot when it's closed it makes a thunking noise, as if it's not latching down all the way and there's a bit of play in there. :conf:

Anyone else had / solved this problem?

Yes. After fitting my new shocks I didn't tighten the bolts properly. Can't remember if it was the centre bolt on the shock itself or the three surrounding ones which bolt it to the car.

Easy to get to anyway so have a look.
