mpg with a/c on ?

They can reduce bhp by 10-15bhp when on too and will take about another 5mpg too, i am the same, but was so hot today had it on, tight arsed bastard that i am?

No way will it make 5mpg difference on a Supra. In fact I've never been able to spot any difference at all in fuel consumption or power. I mean some on, you're talking about a 320bhp car here, not a Micra!

I saw the Mythbusters episode mentioned above......at low speeds AC robs more mpg than having the windows open. higher speeds totherway round.

 

By the by, anyone used one of those AC cleaning 'bombs' ? Are they as much fun as they sound ?
