any suggestions on what's the easiest way to remove my rear speakers? one of them is bust and i have replacements ready but after removing the screws i've discovered they're glued in as well!

any tips / tricks? :)

hmmm I used brute force lol.

Using some leaverage, bit by bit I went round until it came loose. No worries if the speaker is trashed if your replacing it, just be careful not to distort the base plate too much of course...

you might be able to use a little heat to soften the glue, I was too impatient lol

what did you pull it out with? pliers/grips?

leverage with a flat blade in the corners, the glue was quite brittle and the old speaker frames are quite bendy, so was able to lever a corner away at a time without damaging the back plate. There might be an easier way but the brute force and ignorance worked for me on this occassion lol

Think most hack and force them out, one of those jobs you aren't going to like, but needs to be done....

Surely if its blown then just puncture the cone to get a better grip of the sides no?

I used a little gas torch to heat the glue then prised it with a screwdriver, but as said if it is blown get the bugger out :D

Still needs some tidying up and I need to work out how to put the grills back on over them.

i managed to fit 6 by 9 in the backs using the original frames

Brute force worked for me.

Sorry to Hijack, but anyone found a way to stop the stock rear cover from vibrating, as mine have done since initial removal to fit Focals

well, brute force seemed to work fine :d

basically just ripped out the old speaker cones and jammed a claw hammer behind the metal frame to lever it out........worked a treat!

I used the original frames on the sup - moved the 6 by 9 around on the inside of them until they fitted best then I used one of the screw holes from the frames and drilled new holes so they would be secure. Fitted fine and used the supra covers to hide them. Looks no different to the originals due to the covers - but ofcourse better sound

you could try putting some draft excluder type stuff behind the panel, where the clips are. That's what I did, just a little bit and it stopped the rattling.
