The ISO adapter that we have been mentioning, fits the stereo electrically.

To fit your new stereo physically means you need to take your dash cover off IMHO - the one that houses the clock and aircon and of course the stereo, as there is a metal cage, used to fit the stereo:

1) The top dash panel, which houses the odometer and warning lights needs to be removed, this is just held in with screws. When all the screws are out, pull it gently towards you, to "unclip" it. Carefully disconnect the odometer, and warning light connections - 3 in total.

2) Pull out the ash tray, then pull up the plastic surround that housed it. If you have an AUTO, this is an ideal time to try out the red button to move the gearstick. ;)

3) Usually the main surround, the one you need to take off is secured with a screw at the top, which can be seen as you have moved the top dash panel and maybe some screws at the bottom (cant remember! its too early!).

4) The main surround is also clipped in, so gently, prise it forward, when you can just get access to the back, remove the connectors for the Aircon, clock and ciggy lighter....

5) With this away you should see a metal cage that is attached to the dash with 4 screws - this little piece of apparatus is the means in which you can attach a stereo WITHOUT the metal cage thingy that sony supply. If you take this out, you will see some holes that will correspond with holes on the stereo, these are usually for M5 type bolts - you should have some if you had another stereo fitted previously.

Hope this ramble helps somehow - naturally refitting is the opposite of reverse.......
