View Full Version : pics of my install
Hear are some pics of my install.
it consists of:
kenwood Screen. This is behind the Supra panel in the dash. Clever trick to hide it from thieving scumbags. See pic 5
Kenwood 9 band Graphic.
Infinity componants in the front doors.
Infinitys in the rear Quarters.
2 1000w amps
2 x 12", 1000w R type Alpine Subs.
1.5 Farad power cap.
Sounds amazing.
Id appreciate some feedback. it took me the best part of a week but im really proud of the end results.
thats a tidy boot :) did u have to remove the spare wheel?
Yeah. But how often do you need a spare wheel. Thats what the RAC is for.
Because they are 12" subs I didnt build the box inside the wheel well I built it above it around the outside of it to be exact to make it deeper. Not a great deal though just high enough to sit level with the carpet ledge on the back plastic trim. Sealed it all up and put the top on and mounted the subs on that. Then I used the boot carpet to size a full floor out of MDF also and lay that on top so the subs were mounted in the floor. unfortunatlly I had to put the covers on the subs so I could use the boot. But i dont think they look to bad after I fitted them.
I dont get any farting noises at all just deep base so the box volume must be correct.
Couldnt post this link on a reply for marktheboy so here it is hope tyou find it ok let me know what you think.

Really clean and tidy install matey well done. I need to change my rear speakers what model # infinitys are theyand what size, cheers for your info
chris
looks good mate. Bet it sounds awesome
The Infinity speakers are 6.5 inch 2 ways. I made a panel for them which ive put in place of the speaker grill and trimmed it with box cloth and mounted the speaker in that with the infinity grills shawing. Looks quite nice.
Sorry guys, but I dont have any work in progress pics.
I like the way you "hide" the Dvd screen under the supra plate..
Cool
Looks excellent mate, well done!
Cheers Guys. It makes it all worth wild.
It took me a week to do and numerous fallings out with the wife but as I said it was worth it.
Shes talking to me now by the way ha ha ha.

Looks awesome mate. exactly what I was thinking of doing in the future. See you've gone for the same blanking plate as me - looks great doesn't it? Can't work out how you've built the boxes though mate, there isn't much room under that carpet is there?
Its quite easy mate but it takes abit of trial n error. If you build the box ontop of the wheel well instead of in it you still have plenty of boot space.
I wish I had taked some work in progress pics now it would have helped a few of you on the way.
