Petrol Warning Light

my fuel light seems to come on early just above the first notch before the red.

It goes out and i can go another 5-10 miles and then it comes on costantly when its about to hit the red.

Very strange but ive read on here before that this is how it works. like a pre-warning or something

I know it will vary from car to car but any ideas how much fuel is left in the Supra when the warning light starts to come on?

i reckon its about 20 litres but its not something i intend to prove

I got the needle directly on the last white line the other day and it took 60.5 litres to fill up, so just under 10 litres left which equals 40 miles minimum if you stay off boost. The light came on well before this, it usually comes on somewhere between 18 and 14 litres.

You can get the needle to the midpoint of the letter E and then you find out J-specs have a 70 litre tank and not and 80 litre one as was thought all those years ago...

I have had my needle pointing below the last white line before when I got caught short, that was a worrying time...............
