View Full Version : undercar neons
hi folks got a set of neons here hopefully put them on my first sup when i get it so can someone tell me where abouts the best place to mount them and for the cables to run threw thanks
Errr, mount them, like, under the car?
Important thing is, you must not be able to see the tubes at all, this may mean the fabrication of a plastic angle shield. You can use one of the rubber plugs under the drivers seat to route the cables up into the cockpit.

hi, my brother just fitted some to his astra, it took 4 hours, we strapped them with cable ties to each side and made a hole under each seat to fit the cables through, then fed the wires through the whole car, as for the front one, that was a bitch, we had to cut the wire and wire it to a fuse in the engine(used for amp etc) and the battery directly! It was a job and a half, and had to cut holes in car alot!
Its your choice to have them or not mate, i think they look good on my bros car. good luck!

Don't worry Steve0, there's plenty of people who would rather slag you off rather than help or actually answer your question, so don't take offense!
This has been asked before, and there is a bit more info in this thread mate

This is surpose to be ice technical and he wasn't asking if everybody liked them.
Have you got side skirts on the car?? And did the kit come with braces??

You probaably get these with the kit, if not get some, there the easiest way about putting them up !

Screw them to the backside of the skirts/ or ridge beside the skirts, then cable tie to them !

Yeah but if it was in Technical you know you'd be the first to point out that it shouldn't be there. This now just becomes off topic and is useless to anyone who may want a similar answer in the future.
Steping off soapbox now :D

Sorry, dont see the prob on underbody kits, have them on mine, and they look very nice, neat trick is that they are sound responsive to the engine note, so depending on revs the front and the sides lights up..!
SteveO if you need any advice on fitting give me a shout, have fitted loads of kits to loads of cars Supras included..! :) Will get some pics of mine up later to prove that they can look nice..!!! :p
they are easy enough to fit as long as u have a bit of electrical no how ull be grand (no one sleg me) i put them on the corsa years ago when fast and furious 2 came out (when neons first took off) i cable tied them to the break lines the back axle and the front bumper job done :) then i put a set on the gt4 (for a car show that involved coloured lighting) and yet again i cable tied them on :D run the wires up through the engine bay onto the battery and in through the dash to a switch:cool: dont be afraid to attach the wire to a wire coat hanger to get it through the tricky bits:d
another hint make sure u tidy all the wires away as that makes and breaks a car:p and read the instructions before u start out
p.s. ive pulled them off the gt4 and they arent going near the supra when i get her:cool:

Even easier if you get a kit that comes with a remote, then you just link it up to the battery and away you go, no need to feed wires to a dash switch..!
I ran most of my cables under the wheel arch lining at the front and over the top of the suspension arm at the back, side tubes are held in place buy drilling small holes in the back lip of the skirt. (The VS skirts have a perfect recess where the tubes sits nicely and cant been seen)
Was not that dark so the effect is not as great as usual, but here you go..!
