Alloy/width/supra question

Will the following alloy look too narrow/set-in on the back of a Supra

17, 40 offset, 8inch wide with 255 rubber?

is 255 rubber not to much for a 8 inch wheel?? a bit oversized

I have 255 on my rears, 9 inch

id say yes, not very wide.

might look like a space saver

Ok stock 17 inch wheel is, 9.5" wide 50mm offset, so 1.5" narrower. If the 8" had the same offset they'd be 0.75" (approx 19mm) further in the arch than stock 17's. As they have a 40mm offset, 10mm of the 19mm will be offset by this, so that the wheels will 'only' be 9mm further into the arch than stock 17's. Thats my understanding!!

I think most consider stock 17's in to the arch too much and these will look worse...........

Yeah I do but fancy something different. And really....they need refurbed so looking for something to bridge the gap.

It wouldn't look too narrow.

But a 255 is too wide on a 8" rim, my car came like this.

The result was splits on the inside sidewall!
