Ive just installed my Tein Super Streets with new upper mounts.
I run 285/30/19 tyres on a 19X10 rim for the rear
I run 245/30/19 tyres on a 19X9 rim for the front
Im going to get my geometry done on Saturday and have got to take my own settings.
Do any of the geometry boys know what the best settings would be for me running on my 19's
I know its never going to be perfect on 19's but i might as well get close and make sure im not getting uneven tyre wear.
Ive looked at "lance Alignment" but am unsure of if this is suitable due to the fact he set this up on 17" wheels.
Many Thanks
Scotty

If you don't mind me askin, Where abouts are you going to have the geometry done mate?
I think I can guess the answer from Chris. :innocent:
These are trade secrets too you realise?

Really? dam it!
Really? dam it!
Too true. Also there is an element of 'Per vehicle' involved too so you can't just copy them anyway.
with your front bumper they will struggle to do it accuratley, every car we have done (supras) have had to have the stock front bumper on or had to take off the front bumper to do it properly.
also, not sure where your taking it in leicester but if they are that good at alignment then they should have a basic book that shows all camber and tracking fiigures for 99% of cars on the road today (to factory settings or as clsoe as possible).
best place to take it to is Thortons in Syston, or my guys at Toyota. Thortons can be arsy at times, but their job is as good as my guys in Toyota.
if you want, i could get you booked in at Toyota and have it done at our rates
by the way, they want the Oroginal MKIV Supra manual back :D
bijal
p.s thought you only had enough budget for the Eibach springs?? :d

It's like asking the Colonel how he makes his chicken so damn tasty.

Which you might as well through out of the window once you change the suspension components and wheel size like this. (As I understand it.)

They wont get my car on any 4 poster ramp at Toyota. grounds out! Jaguar have a flat alignment ramp sunk into the ground

Jaguar have newer better kit than at Toyota. Yes they have stock settings on the system but there not going to be much use to me with 19's and an inch and a half lower.
by the way, they want the Original MKIV Supra manual back :D
That got stolen with the body/chassis manual from their workshop. I have neither dude!
Newer kit is not all its cracked up to be. We use 10 year old kit adn get a perfect result every time.
As for bumper, Bijal is correct, the lower wings get in the way, dont let them tell you otherwise..

so its best to just take the front bumber off then. which i hate doing!
I would it will save you alot of time / money

yeah, forgot to mention, thats another reason why we have to take the aftermarket front bumpers off, cos of the ramps!!! thortons are the same.
make sure the cambers are sorted too.
good luck!

ok,
i still have no settings to start from :(
The lance ones are not too bad. Although the rears could be looked at a little ;) ;)

Was my side skirts that were the problem at Toyota dude. The bumper just made it but then would hit the skirts.
Even if i want to put it on a 2 poster i have to jack each side up so the arms will swing under (with the pods fully screwed in too)

Thats just silly, Its not exactly rocket science getting a low car onto rams. Just take the Wood with you... ohh err..!
That wasnt a dig at U dude, more teh garage personell

True true, but feck it. Might as well go where the flat ramp is.

Waste of time on 19's. I don't touch them, if I can help it. Like in Charlie Varrick, "I don't sleep with whores, at least not knowingly" :) If you dial in enough toe and cator to make the thing drive 1/2 straight it'll kill the tyres, if you don't dial in enough it'll probably kill you.
Chris,
Can your fast road geometry settings be used on stock yellow Bilsteins or is it only for your modified dampers?

It's for my own springs, and for stock size wheels, or thereabouts.

In predictabilty comes security :d

So it can't be done on stock springs, dampers and 17s then?
Chris Wilson

It can be done on anything, but it's not right.

Wise words indeed.

So...... Not one person on this entire board drives 19's with coilovers and has a reasonable geometry setup?

Anything would be a start!
And anything must be better than the crappy UK stock suspension i already had on there with my 19's!
I really didnt think this would be such a big deal, i understand that 19's f**k my handling up (accepted that before i bought them)
But come on guys, help a guy out!

sorry Scott, Can't help but have you tried SupraForums.
Alot of U.S guys run on 19s. Someone must know

To get the best out of 19'S i went for coilovers, for normal road driving and aggressive road driving it handles really well obviously not better than 17's etc, But it really does handle well!
Everyone who has said 19's will handle shit are partly right, but if you have the right suspension set up its actually pretty good, can vouch for it cuz mine handles beautifully, either its a 'major placeibo effect' or im high on coke or im telling you the truth and being totally honest from my experience, and i think ive gone off the original thread...ooopss!

There is a god!
So WKDTIME, where did you get your geometry done after fitting coilovers and 19's?
Do you know what the settings were?
Scott

I had mine done when iwas visiting up north in blackburn, it was a mate of my uncles who has this new laser set up thingy and said he has all the jap import data etc. and said he would tweak it a little to make up for the 19's, car felt awsome after that. But TBH honest i dint ask him questions in Regard to what he did and fugures etc. Soz matey!

Here are the Lance Alignment settings:
Front:
• Camber - 1.0 degrees
• Caster + 5.0 degrees
• Toe 0.00 mm
Rear:
• Camber -1.5 degrees
• Toe in (total) 1.00 mm
Ive been advised to possibly
-- have some toe added to the front.
-- have the caster backed down to 4
-- have the camber at 1.5 negative at all four corners.
Come on guys, what do ya reckon?
I rekon with 1/5 on the front you will wear the inside edges on 19's

I knew you wanted to help martin ;)
So keep it -1.0 on the front camber and -1.5 on the rear?
Now what about the castor and the toe on the front. Should i back it down to +4 castor and add toe on the front or not?
Scotty
I'm no expert just speaking from what I have seen on others. I can spek top someone tomorrow that may be able to help.
