Install Question - Tein SS - Top Nut

On the stock top mounts you can torque the top nut up when there installed.

On the Tein Coilovers with the top mounts, if you tried to torque the top nut up the center shaft would just turn with the nut so you cant torque it.

Are they torqued up from Tein when they come or is there a way to do this yourself when installed?

Im thinking these have to have been torqued at the factory when fully assembled?

I wouldn't use an air gun then.... :) The only Teins I see are already scrappers, so I wouldn't get to see a manual for a new one. Doesn't the manual tell you how to lock the piston rod?

Normally done before you adjust the spring platform to push the spring upto the top mount. That's the way my HKS are done.

Usually a section on top of the strut to put a spanner, then tighten up the top nut.

There are no parts of the shaft that allow you to hold the rod in place

Just done mine.

Stick the nut on. Tighten as far as you can go by hand. 17mm ring spanner and I used an adjustable to hold the shaft. The shaft has 2 flats. You can clearly see them as you screw the nut on... Torgue setting is a mere 27nm.
JOb done. Then start adjusting your ride height.

Mine came assembled so can you still see the flats on the shaft when there fully assembled and on the car.

I just assumed that id be able to check the tightness when they were fitted (like with the stock mounts)

Yes you can.. I have just taken my super flex off and replaced with the superstreet and the flats on the shaft are visable.. 27nm torque is not much more than half turn when its tight anyhow
