If the snow mode button works that the trac off one should too as it's one plug. Guess you'll be pulling the dahs off to check what's what :)

when i first got the car i had this problem. then when i had the sterio fitted i asked them to see if any plugs were off. they said yes and the slip off function worked, however the next time i used it a night i had no dash lights so took it to a auto electrician and they re wired it. this is around 2years ago
could it be an electrical fault??? blown fuse??

Your auto eletrician, acted prematurely. I have never heard of a dash needing rewiring when the lights failed. Sounds more like a simple loose plug, a frequent occurance when dashes are taken apart. With the dash rewired it will be very hard to identify faults with out checking all associated circuits.

Sorry mate but Toyota did a pretty good job of working out the eletrical wiring, unless there were major wiring faults it should have been left alone.
If you take your dash panels off and take some pics it might help someone identify anything suspect.
All the dash eletrical connectors need to be push fully home until they can be felt to engage the clips, if not the tension on the looms can make them come out.
