Guest rude1978
Hi I have a uk TT and a little while a go I had to send my key fob and the alarms ECU away to have it reprogrammed. So what has happened now is I parked up the supra long enough for the battery to go flat, I jump lead started it but now you cannot use the remote to open the doors, only by turning the key you can open it, also the security light is staying on. Is there anything I can do without resorting to sending of the ECU and key fob again??? Any ideas for me to try would be gratefully apprieacted. Guest rude1978
It is the standard scorpian alarm. I think if I ring the guy he is gonna want me to send it in again, was hoping if theres were any 'tricks' I could try first?
JohnA
Try pressing the two buttons on the remote fob, facing the car (with the battery connected obviously) Keep them both pressed for 5 seconds or so, that may do the trick.
AJI
if you can start the engine it sounds like it hasn't gone into full anti-theft mode. When mine went tit$ up it shut down everything. Had to go for a full new alarm system. Try the 5sec button suggestion but also try resetting the alarm using the castle key. Turn on engine (but don't start it).. turn off alarm using castle key. Turn off engine. Turn on engine again and then turn back on the alarm using castle key.

RedM
Why not take it to a car security specialist?
AJI
red m - the only people able to re-set the alarm chip are scorpion aparently. If you sent it to a security specialist then they would in turn send it to scorpion for a re-set.... you'd only end up creating a middle man. The stock uk security system seems to be notorious for malfunctioning when the battery goes flat. Its happened on quite a few UK supra owners now. I'd personally opt for a full system upgrade.... the Toad AI606 or better can be bought and installed for around £250. These modern security systems have a manual re-set if it goes into full anti-theft mode. So if your battery does go flat and the secondary battery for the alarm also goes flat then when power is restored you can do a full reset by following the manual instructions.
