Updates to my Exhaust replacement

Hiya,

I know it's a bit late, but here is an update to my Exhaust replacement.

Taking the exhaust off showed the poor state it was in, excluding the rear box falling off! :(

There was also a 2inch hole in the exhaust. Explains why it was so loud when starting from cold..

Some pics of the exhausts, old and new.

NOw it came to putting it on.

Nice and easy, until it came to hanging the rear box. It did not use the existing hangers, but came with a bracket.

After a bit of trial and error, I found that it bolted to one of the towing eye bolts.

I did have to widen the hole in the bracket for the bolt to fit through it.

All in all, I like this exhaust.

Looks good, not as imposing as the SD, but still impressive.

Sound wise, I am comparing this with a SD with a large hole in it, so it's not exactly a great comparison.

From cold it is a lot quieter, so should please the folks where I live. :)

Idling it has a nice rumble to it.

Out on the road, again it is quieter too, but under WOT get louder.. Been driving around with the windows open...

Seems better crusing on the Motorway as well, I can now hear the other sounds my car makes.. Gives me something else to worry about. :)

I have a sound clip from my PDA, but cannot upload a WAV file.

As I am creating this from work, remotely connect to a PC at home, I cannot ZIP it up.

Pros

Looks great

Sounds good, without being too loud (Maybe a con for some of you)

Cons

No instructions on the hanging bracket.

Had to alter the bracket to fit the bolt.

Gutted to be spending out, but happy with the result.

Interesting how it bends at the end.

My RS*R is virtually straight all the way through.

The GReddy exhaust follows the curves of the stock exhaust location, the RSR doesn't, the groud clearance on the GReddy will therefore be quite a bit better.
