View Full Version : Ashford Monthly Meet
Some of you may remember a little while ago from other posts that some of us wanted a local meet for the South East Kent area.
After quite a lot of thinking and chatting between ourselves, Adam (spyda)and myself approched a pub yesterday to see if they would be happy for us to hold a monthly meet at their establishment - they were more than happy to oblige with everything that we talked about.
The night will be on the second Monday evening of every month.
They are setting aside the conservatory for us which holds an easy 20 plus people, which happens to look over the car park.
They of course serve food to which i said that the majority of us would par take in - think this is only fair from what they are doing for the meet.
The pub is called The New Chimneys and the car park is plenty big enough for us plus their normal customers.
The first date is booked for 8th May.
I hope this will be first of many to come so lets make the first one a good one !!!

It'll be good to have a monthly meet, and see all you lot in the summer months :)

Will try and get down for this, haven't been to any meets for ages because of work.
toyotatom is up for this too and possibly Zap and tina, c'mon you southerners this could be the beginning of something good here, how many decent pubs are willing to give us first dibs on thier facilities evry month.....

Notcutts would be a good place to meet - then we have a choice between a blat down the M20 or a hoon along the A20 :) :)

Could always meet up at Maidstone services off M20, i know there is not then the A20 side of things but might be better/easier for some :)

na fella not trying to confuse people :blink: just thought that for some who are not local or dont know the area very well that the services off the M20 would be an easier place for everyone to meet.
plus people dont need to panic about speed humps like at Nottcuts ;)
I really dont mind either location just thought i would put it forward :)

Really great night out. Thanks to Colin for organising it.
One question though... Who do I owe a tenner to? - Blame Adam, he sidetracked me on the way out! :think: :oops:
LOL. Yup, good to meet peeps :) :) Matt, your share of the bill was nearer £60 - Fran picked it up for you so apparently you now owe her a pile of work on her car (I think she mentioned something about a full set of neons??) LOL

I live just outside of Lenham in Platts Heath, which is about 1 mile down the road from there. Where abouts on the Maidstone Road? Know quite a few people in this area.

Ah that's the red lion. Don't really go drinking in Lenham myself, only occasionally, but will keep an eye out for the picture if I happen to go there!
Yes - it was good.

great night, evan though i was a bit late getting there , great pub guys.
I particularly liked the waitresses - one proclaimed "I have a medium rare rump!"
And the other one told me I had the "Big one!" LOL :) :)

Was glad I rushed home, washed car and shot straight out to catch this meet. It was well worth it, great pub choice with good parking and a great view from the dinning table window ;) :d . Nice to put face's to name's and see some great motors. Matt's supra sounded Brill' as he wound it up a touch on the M20:d ,also certainly was quick from where I was sitting. Roll on the next one. Glad to see Zap back on his feet after opp', best of luck with the recovery fella! Here's a few pic's from last night.
