The washers that come with ARP head studs are too big to fit into the bolt holes in a VVTi cylinder head!

And I've lost half the washers that were on the original Toyota head bolts.

GRRRRR!!!!

Nothing's ever simple, is it?

OK I figured it out in the end. You need to drop the washers sideways down the hole and then maneuver then into position with a screwdriver or somesuch implement BUT you have to remove the stud from the block before dropping the washer into the head. Once the washers are in place you simply pass the stud through the washer and head into the block.

Easy when you know how innit!

Yes this is correct, but you will also need some vasalline to hold them in place when you lower the head.
