Ive got this really annoying loud squeak coming from my passangers rear wheel. ive had a look at my rear brake pads and disks and they seem fine. I also get a squeak from the rear drivers side wheel when i take a right turn especially noticable going round a roundabout. Any ideas?
i had a sort of squeek, found to be the dust guard was to near the disc and was rubbing, i just bent it out a bit and all was sorted
can also suffer from the rear brakes binding iirc
I had the same problem with my drivers side rear wheel ,it was the handbrake shoe inside the hub, the spring and small rod has broke, could also be the wheel bearings.

Got both my rear wheel bearings changed less than 6 months back. i had a very slight squeak just after i got it back, so i think they've done a bad job. is it quite easy to check the bearings or is it a big job?
jack up the car and try and move one of the wheels from side to side, if there is any play in the bearing there you know there the problem.

ive checked that and theres no play in the wheels. could it be anything to do with the brake pad clips.
not sure mate,i would still check the handbrake shoe

how do i do that, do i have to remove the disks?
you have to remove the hub to check the handbrake shoe, can be a real pain in the arse im telling you
Are you sure its not just the brake pad clips warning you the pads are getting low? Mine started squeeling when there was still a couple of thousand miles left.

i check my pads and there still like new. they've done less than 6k.

Jack up the car and take the handbrake off and then try to move the wheels! :)
Mind you, this could also be a loose bush or joint in the suspension. Try to move the wheel with your hands at 12o'clock and 6o'clock, and then with them at 3o'clock abd 9o'clock. If it moves equally in all positions it likely to be a wheel bearing. If not then it could be a suspension bush. I'm trying to diagnose this myself at the moment.

Right didnt get a chance over the weekend to take my wheels off and have a good look for any faults, but ive noticed that my rear pads havent got any anti-squeal shims. Ive looked at my manual cd and it shows a inner anti-squeal shim and an outer one for each pad. Could this be the root of my problem? The squeking has got louder over the weekend.:(
