That's 4x80w max (peak). The RMS rating is probably much much lower.

 

And Boss stuff is generally a bit wank. ;)

 

i thought ALL the claimed head unit figures were PEAK ??

 

would be going some to get a true 200W (4x50) RMS from a head unit !

there's hardly any room for that sort of amp what with all the CD/tuner/

display/etc in there . . . . IS there ??

I am fairly certain that head units are limited to around 60w due to the size of the inbuilt analogue amp needed and the heat generated. I think there is a new head unit out with a digital amp ( I forgot the make, I read about it somewhere) that can go higher then 60w per channel. I could be wrong though and/or have the terminology incorrect. Like I said I just quickly read about this a few months ago...

 

 

That claim of 80w per channel should be taken with a grain of salt (in fact you might need the whole salt shaker) :)
