And Boss stuff is generally a bit wank. i thought ALL the claimed head unit figures were PEAK ?? would be going some to get a true 200W (4x50) RMS from a head unit ! there's hardly any room for that sort of amp what with all the CD/tuner/ display/etc in there . . . . Gamer Posted March 28, 2006 Share Posted March 28, 2006 I am fairly certain that head units are limited to around 60w due to the size of the inbuilt analogue amp needed and the heat generated. I think there is a new head unit out with a digital amp ( I forgot the make, I read about it somewhere) that can go higher then 60w per channel. I could be wrong though and/or have the terminology incorrect. Like I said I just quickly read about this a few months ago...
