Clifford software hangs "interrogating system components"

I got my G5 software 2.2 and cable today and connected it up to my port on the intellistart (it seems to loop through). It's a Concept 600 system.

After starting the software the welcome screen knows if the system is armed or not and also if the ignition is on or off - so there's some communication there.

However, if I try to go any further a box saying Interrogating System Components appears and doesn't go away. I've left it for ages.

The system is via a USB COM dongle as nothing has real com ports nowadays. This works for all my Cisco boxes etc, but as this software seems pretty old I'm wondering if that's the problem.

Any other ideas anyone?

Ta.

Download the software then run it in offline mode and find out.

Basically lets you control all aspects of the alarm more easily.

I've managed to screw mine up with it though.

It won't recognise I have Intellivoice and the Intellistart insist on trying to burn out my starter motor.

I've given up for now.

is it possible to buy the software and link cable so that i can re-program my own key fobs ? or is that too expensive:rolleyes:

Yup - the software lets you do this too.

I think there's a way to do it without the software as well too. Installer manuals are in the downloads section. See http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=62057&highlight=clifford
